The most extraordinary band to ever be, this blog is a small, clumsy journal of the marvellous past times the artists came to experience.
It is also a place to write a letter to the Beatles. Write something you would like to say to a Beatle on 'Tell Me Why' or 'I Will'. It will be incorporated into a photograph, and shared on this blog.

So here are The Beatles - The last great band in black and white

They were reasonably successful, each having several solo hits since the breakup of the group in April 1970. But it was never really the same. Lennon and McCartney, especially, should have had more artistically meaningful careers than they did. Undoubtedly, ‘Imagine’ was inspirational, and Wings wasn’t too bad, but without each other to lean on, a good part of their magic was forever extinguished.
— Geoffrey Giuliano, 1999 [x]

“People talk about the break up of the group as though it was a tragedy, which is nonsense. They don’t say it’s amazing how long they lasted together. What other group has lasted as successfully as they? And as amicably? For nearly a decade-it really is pretty remarkable. It’s amazing to me, human nature being what it is, that they didn’t break up earlier under the strain of superstardom. They were living in a golden prison all the time and not growing into individual lives. Now they’re living individual lives and enjoying it. Good luck to them.”

-George Martin, April 1970. [x]
