The most extraordinary band to ever be, this blog is a small, clumsy journal of the marvellous past times the artists came to experience.

So here are The Beatles - The last great band in black and white

“The Ditched Beatle” omfg

Just all of Pete Best’s overall, tears in my eyes
And then Ringo: “The luckiest man alive” “Now missing a chin but never a nose”
Except awkward they got George and Ringo’s birthdays wrong

John and I went to Paris on birthday money he received from a relative. He must have been fond of me to spend that money. He let me have all the banana milkshakes I wanted.

Ostsee Beach
April 1961 - Astrid Kirchherr and Stu Sutcliffe sitting in the sand at Ostsee Beach on the Baltic Sea near Hamburg with Cynthia Powell in the background, right. John Lennon and Paul McCartney invited their girlfriends (Cynthia Powell and Dot Rhone) to visit them in Germany on their Easter holiday break. Cynthia finally met the Beatles’ new photographer friend she’d heard so much about in John’s letters and stayed at Astrid’s Hamburg home during her visit. John & Cyn and Astrid & Stuart spent a day at the beach together at the resort of Ostsee. (Photo credit not given, but may have been taken by John Lennon.) When the Beatles returned to Liverpool in June 1961 and started playing dates at the Cavern, Stu stayed in Hamburg and planned to marry Astrid.

Exactly 12:00 AM

June 23 1940

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the most beautiful angel Stuart, right at this moment, lord knows how much I’m wishing he was here.  He is truly an inspiration to me and he is someone that really changed my life in so many ways. He’s the reason why I think art is so phenomenal and so essential. His creativity, his courage, and potential is a miracle for someone as young as that. For someone who was sitting creating and coming up with new things, new ideas non-stop at that age, is what makes him my role model, someone I look up to for courage , strength and confidence. I believe Stuart will always have a deep mark in my heart,he will never stop fascinating me. As John said, he is truly a guiding force. May his soul rest in eternal peace.

This man means so much to me. Stuart, you have so many admirers, and you deserve every one of them. It’s so sad for you to have gone so soon, the possibility in your creativity was so endless, and I truly believe all you had already accomplished in your life was just skimming the surface. I, and many others as I can see, will never forget you. Golden slumbers, lovely, and happy birthday.
